Somnath to Dwarka by road

By road the two temples are about 235 km apart along the coastal highway, roughly a five-hour drive. A taxi lets you leave Somnath after the morning aarti and reach Dwarka in time for evening darshan at Dwarkadhish.

Stops along the coastal route

1. Somnath

   Start after morning darshan at the Jyotirlinga temple.

2. Chorwad and Mangrol

   Coastal towns with a beach and the old Nawab's summer palace at Chorwad. A good tea stop.

3. Madhavpur Ghed

   Madhavrai temple and beach, where the wedding of Shri Krishna and Rukmini is celebrated each year.

4. Porbandarabout 130 km

   Kirti Mandir, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi, and Sudama Mandir. The usual lunch stop.

5. Harsiddhi Mata Temple

   Hilltop temple overlooking the sea, just off the Porbandar to Dwarka road.

6. Dwarkaabout 235 km

   Dwarkadhish Temple (Jagat Mandir) and Gomti Ghat.
